OUR DIRECTORATE GENERAL HAS DISPATCHED THE TRADITIONAL “FOOD AID FOR RAMADAN” PACKAGES ABROAD.
Our Directorate General of Foundations under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, has sent out the Ramadan food aid packages, a practice that has become customary.
With just a few days remaining until the month of Ramadan, the Directorate General has accelerated its charitable activities. In the month of Ramadan, known as a time of solidarity and giving in the Islamic world, our Directorate has dispatched 20 thousand food packages to be distributed to needy families residing in the lands where our ancestors once walked, emphasizing the importance of endowing, sharing, and solidarity.
Our Director General Mr. Sinan Aksu stated, “The aid packages for the Ramadan month of 2024, a tradition we have established before every Ramadan, have set out today for international destinations. I hope for a safe journey without any mishaps and reaching our needy brothers and sisters. I also want to emphasize once again that we will continue to extend a helping hand to all disadvantaged territories to the best of our ability.”
In the spirit of ongoing tradition, highlighting the significance of the international aid packages during the month of Ramadan, our Director General, Mr. Sinan Aksu emphasized: “As the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Directorate General of Foundations, through the traditional aid we provide annually, we demonstrate that we haven’t forgotten our brothers and sisters in the lands marked by the footsteps of our Turkish-Islamic Waqf civilization. Our waqfs serve as a bridge between our past and present, a philanthropic gateway that has continued uninterrupted for centuries, and a source of blessings in prayers.
In accordance with the principles we have learned from our ancestors, we do not consider people’s religion, language, race, or ideology when providing assistance. We adopt the guiding principle of mutual aid and solidarity that has been passed down to us. Following the legacy our ancestors left us to ensure that the doors of blessings remain open, we fulfill charitable services in the direction they have bequeathed to us.
In line with this, this year we bid farewell to a total of 20,000 food packages, destined for Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with 4,000, Bosnia and Herzegovina with 5,000, the Republic of Kosovo with 5,000, the Republic of North Macedonia with 4,000, and Montenegro with 2,000. May Almighty Allah be pleased with our endowing ancestors who set the example. May our sense of solidarity as a nation increase and never diminish.” he said.
The food packages contain long-lasting consumables.
Within the aid packages of our Directorate General, there are long-lasting and durable food items such as flour, tomato paste, sunflower oil, dried beans, pasta, red lentils, orzo, rice, tahini halva, raisins and dates.
