‘ONE TO THOUSAND’ FOUNDATION WEEK AND AWARD CEREMONY WAS HELD AT BEŞTEPE CONGRESS AND CULTURE CENTER

Vice President Mr. Fuat Oktay, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Familiy and Social Services Mrs. Derya Yanık, Deputy Ministers of Culture and Tourism; Mr. Dr. Serdar Çam and  Mr. Ahmet Misbah Demircan, Director General of Foundations Mr. Burhan Ersoy, Foundation Representatives and philanthropists who received the Benevolent Person Awards joined the ceremony organized by the Directorate General of Foundations at Beştepe Congress and Culture Center under the theme of “One to Thousand “ titled Foundation Week and Award Ceremony.

Speaking at the Foundation Week and Award Ceremony Program with the theme “Social Policies, Social Aids and Sharing Tradition in Foundation Civilization"  Vice President Mr. Fuat Oktay stated that foundations which carry out activities in many fields from education to health from cooperation to sharing have existed and continue their activities in a wide geography for centuries.

Reminding that foundation services are based on the aim “Winning Allah’s approval” Mr. Oktay stated that this extends the scope of activities of foundations beyond humans to all kind of living things and beings.

Mentioning that people can find foundations support near them on the subjects such as education, health, marriage, starting a business establishment as well as in all areas of life, Mr. Oktay said “In our culture, there is a concept of ‘benevolent people’ that you can not find anywhere else.”

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy who also made a speech in the program expressed his gratitude to the philanthropists who received the award saying that the essence of the foundation’s civilization is not to do good to people, but to encourage them to do good things as well.

The Director General of Foundations Mr. Burhan Ersoy who started his speech by greeting everyone with respect and love said within the scope of the program “We welcome you all to this meaningful Foundation Week Ceremony which we celebrate with the theme of “Social Policies, Social Aids and Sharing Tradition in Foundation Civilization"

Mr. Ersoy continued his speech as follows: “The roots of the Directorate General of Foundations, one of the most established institutions of our country, were laid in the lands of Anatolian in 1948 in Pasinler, where we also built its monument this year, is an ancient institution that has undertaken to pass on the tradition and civilization of the Foundation to future generations as a duty, and  has adopted the principle of instilling the consciousness of social assistance and solidarity, sharing the wealth and the happiness into the society. Fedek Date Garden is an integral part of the social structure from Seljuk and Ottoman times to the present.

Mr. Ersoy said “Foundation Week which we traditionally celebrated in the second week of May also helps us to give our awards to benevolent persons who bring together all friends of foundations who sometimes undertake a social role with a smile, sometimes with their help, sometimes with in transferring our civilization and spirituality to future generations.” and added that he wished the number of benevolent person will increase exponentially.

Mr Ersoy who pointed out that Directorate General of Foundations is making an effort not only to choose the solutions offered but also to find the most appropriate solution with a pioneering and leading understanding that embodies the values of civilization and bridges the past to the future, said “I would like to express my gratitude and gratefullness to all of you for not leaving us alone and sharing our excitement”
