DREAM DISCOVER ENDOW YOUTH PROJECT – TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTH CYPRUS (TRNC)
In order to promote and spread our foundation civilization in the international arena the “Dream, Discover and Endow Youth Project” is promoted by our Directorate General, and in the third stage of this project, 14 university students from Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (TRNC) were hosted in Istanbul and Bursa between December 05-10, 2022 and series of educational and cultural events were organized to promote Turkish foundation culture.
Within the scope of this program “Dream, Discover and Endow Youth Project” which was carried out with the aim of promoting the Turkish foundation culture with universal values, the activities carried out by our Directorate General in Istanbul and Bursa were introduced to the young guests on site and in practice. In this context;
- Established by our Directorate General, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University and Bezmialem Valide Sultan Foundation University were visited. In the visit of the Bezmialem Valide Sultan Foundation University Information was shared about the foundational history of Bezmialem Valide Sultan University Hospital and the current foundational services of it and at the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University Atik Valide Campus visit, information was given about the university and its complex where the university campus is located.
- İstanbul Eyüp Soup Kitchen was visited and information about the soup kitchen was given and the students actively worked and took part in its service.
- Examples of foundational works protected by our Directorate General in İstanbul were toured. By visiting the Süleymaniye Complex, detailed information was given about the structure of the complex, the relationship between the foundation and the complex and the functions of the buildings in the complex and the mosque, the madrasah and the tomb structures were also visited. The Sultan Ahmet (Blue) Mosque was visited and information about its ongoing restoration was obtained and the applications were examined on site. The Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque was visited and information about its historical and artistic value was obtained. Information was given on the birdhouses in Üsküdar (Ayazma Mosque, Selimiye Mosque, Yeni Valide Mosque) and about the foundation works on the historical Mese Yolu ( Mese Route) (today known as Divan Route) from Eminönü to Beyazıt Square.The Museum of Islamic Civilizations located under the Camlıca Mosque was visited. Also the Galata Tower and the İstanbul Region 2 Regional Directorate of Foundations were visited.
-In Bursa visits were made to Ulu Mosque and its surrounding, Yeşil (Green) Mosque and Yeşil (Green) Tomb, Panorama 1326 Bursa Conquest Museum and the Muradiye Complex. Tile, calligraphy, felt and silkworm applications were observed in the traditional Turkish arts workshops located on the Irgandı Bridge and were actually made by the students.
