THE SARAJEVO BASCARSI MOSQUE RESTORED BY OUR DIRECTORATE GENERAL WAS OPENED TO WORSHIP
The Bascarsi (Hoca Durak) Mosque dated to 1528, located in Bascarsi, the Sarajevo’s commercial and touristic center was opened to worship with the participation of Sarejevo Islamic Community Assembly Representatives, community members, shopkeepers and members of mosque board at the evening prayer on Thursday 16th of July after three year of restoration period done with the cooperation of our Directorate General and Islamic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sarajevo Waqf Directorate and got his congregation with the first Friday prayer performed on July 17th.
The planned official opening ceremony of the mosque with the participations of both countries will be held in the coming months due to Pandemic.
