A "GLOBAL HERITAGE RESTORATION CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN" WAS ORGANIZED TO REVIVE THE CULTURAL HERITAGE DAMAGED IN THE FEBRUARY 6 EARTHQUAKES.
The Global Heritage Restoration Crowdfunding Campaign, aimed at reviving the cultural heritage damaged in the devastating earthquakes on February 6, 2023, was conducted in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, our Directorate General, and under the coordination of our Foreign Affairs Unit with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The campaign, which includes the restoration of Mar Yuhanna Greek Orthodox Church and Hatay Sarımiye Mosque, among others, was initiated with a launch event held at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara. The campaign's objectives extended beyond cultural heritage restoration to raise awareness, both domestically and internationally, about the value and significance of historic sites, religious monuments, traditional practices, arts, and crafts affected by the earthquake for present and future generations.
