FOUNDATION TOURISM" PROJECT OF VGM, TRNC FOUNDATIONS ADMINISTRATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED

Aiming the developing qualified foundational tours, The Foundation Tourism Project has been realized with attendance of civil society institutions operating in the field of tourism, on 03-18 December 2016 in Nicosia, Girne and Magosa. The Project has been developed since 2014 by DG of Foundations as training sessions.

Including various subjects such as Foundation Civilization, Ottomans in Cyprus, A Foundation Island: Cyprus and Foundations in Cyprus, the training program was followed by 50 tourist guides. After training sessions, a tour program for creating alternative rotations was organized.

After the completion of the studies, The Certificate Ceremony held in the Nicosia Bedesten the tour guides who completed each phase of the training were awarded the "Foundation Guide" Certificate. General Director of the TRNC Foundations Administration Prof. Dr. İbrahim Benter, The First Counselor of TR Nicosia Ambassador Mehmet Apak, The Director of Cyprus Turkish Union for Tourist Guides İbrahim Altıner as well as public invited honored the Ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, BENTER, General Director of the TRNC Foundations Administration, pointed out the importance of the joint work with the General Directorate of Foundations, while he noted that the work was of great importance for creating awareness of the foundations and ensuring recognition of the foundation issue. The First Counselor of TR Nicosia Ambassador Mehmet Apak pointed out the importance of the issue of the foundation for the Cyprus island while pointing to the sensitivity created by public and similar studies to protect and sustain the common cultural heritage. Besides, he congratulated the Directorate General of Foundations for this work carried out to create public awareness. Lastly, while expressing their satisfaction without working, The Director of Cyprus Turkish Union for Tourist Guides İbrahim ALTINER expressed his gratitude by drawing attention to the professional importance of having knowledge about Ottoman foundation civilization.
