In recent years taking inventory and protecting of Teberrukat goods and announcing of them when they are stolen creates deterrent effect and thus it causes a substantial decease in stealing number.
When foundation movable cultural properties are stolen, Inventory notes and English translations are prepared in digital environment,
- Prepared information are sent to abroad representatives and relevant media through police units, Interpol, customs, governorships, museums and Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
- If some movable cultural properties are found, relevant units are informed to stop researching of theft and provided to receive back the movable cultural properties
by means of '' Struggle Against Smuggling Office'' established on May 28, 2002 in the body of Directorate General of Foundations. It is very important to inform to Regional Directorates of Foundations and Directorate General of Foundations, if possible, to cause to search the movable cultural properties stolen from foundation monuments, mosques and small mosques and denounced to local police units to prevent to be smuggled.
It will be suitable to examine stolen goods which are found by local police units and hesitated about whether they are cultural properties or not. In this way some determinations will be provided about whether cultural properties have antique value or not or cultural properties are foundation work or not.
Web sites of auction halls and antique shops inside country and abroad, auction catalogues and relevant publications as well as criminal complaint related to stolen works are permanently scanned in Struggle Against Smuggling Office and accordingly stolen movable cultural properties are received back when they are found. After establishment of the said office, tens of historical artifact are found inside country and some historical artifacts are returned from abroad.
